on thunder and the trinity

Today Buster said to me, "Mom, God didn't make thunder." Baffled, I asked him why he thought that. He replied, "Well, when Jesus was in the boat and it was storming, he was sleeping so he couldn't have made the thunder!" Okay, how do you explain the Trinity to a 5-year-0ld???

  1. What a super hip and polished blog makeover! (coming over from Graphically Designing)

And as for explaining the Trinity to a 5 year old... I did the ol' apple analogy. The skin, the flesh and the core are all part of the same apple, but different. Obviously not a perfect example, but it's all I got for young kids.

  2. Hmmmmm...When the thunder was booming, my Mom used to say, "That's just God bowling." Made this 5-year-old less afraid, anyway. You TOTALLY Rock! If ya wanna see how I Rock, please tune in. And come join in the fun!

  3. You could always explain the Mormon point of view that The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are three separate persons, three divine beings. http://jesuschrist.lds.org/SonOfGod/eng/testimonies-of-him/articles/the-only-true-god-and-jesus-christ-whom-he-hath-sent
But I could understand you not wanting to do that since you aren't Mormon. :)

  4. Little kids always see things in a unique way that make us think about things differently. Gotta love em.

Your new blog design looks incredible! Darcy did a beautiful job!

She did my site too. Nice to meet you!

  5. You could always go the ST. Patrick route with the 3 leaf clover.
