progress

I know I’ve been talking way too much about our basement project, but that is, after all, our focus these days so you can just accept that you’ll be hearing more on that topic. Anyway, here’s the proof that the framers have spent 1 whole day and 1 whole evening hard at work:

And yes, that is a lawn mower in the back room (future office) because we have a tiny single-car garage and no garden shed. The room with the step ladder will become the bathroom and the room to the left of that will be the boys’ huge bedroom. (So looking forward to that!)

The guys we hired to help with framing are both good friends of ours, so tonight a wife came along. And bless her heart, she washed all my dishes. My dishwasher has been out of commission for 2 weeks and I was drowning in dishes. No lie. They just kept piling up and I got more and more depressed every time I walked through the kitchen. I thanked Em profusely tonight and she said, “Isn’t that what friends are for?” Indeed… I’m the girl that only recently has been able to have my very best friend over without quickly sweeping and frantically cleaning up. I’m learning to “keep it real”, and to just be me. Even when my perfectionist side wants to rear its ugly head. It’s progress.
